The brightest festival of the calendar brings enough reasons to celebrate, and one of the many rituals associated with the occasion includes worshipping Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganpati for wealth and good fortune. But here, we do not work on superficial, material understanding, and even the mainstream puja is not a physical act. Deepawali meditation conducted by Aparnaji is in the form of a ‘Mansik Puja’, wherein she clarifies the deeper adhyatmik meaning of “wealth” and “health”, which are much subtler and richer than the gold-laden markets. This year, Kabir peace mission witnessed the gathering of a significant number of participants who found themselves truly rich through this Deepawali specific dhyan.
The change of seasons comes with joy in hearts and splendid emotions; it also comes with Navratri, the holy days of Shakti. These days are meant for surrender of oneself to the supreme power of Devi. Aparna ji, to make the most out of the showers of blessings, organizes Gyatri Dhyan Sadhna in these nine days. This sadhna, if completed properly, helps the participants experience incredible energy and potential within themselves, the manifestation of Devi herself.
Poornima holds a highly spiritual importance. It stems from the fact that observed in isolation, moon affects us in a profound way, both on physical and energy levels. After all, if its attraction can pull the whole of earths’ water towards it, a Poornima can very easily deliver potential to human energy to reach new heights. It was a Poornima on the day when Buddha was born, left home and attained enlightenment. Such examples are scattered all over the spiritual history of different sects, and all lead to the permanent truth.
On Kartik, Sharad and Buddha Poornima, a special meditation class by Aparnaji is held at the centre, to experience the ascent of the moon, and with it, the elevation of the self. Aparnaji explains the importance of the day, in both scientific and adhyatmik ways. Meditators then dive into an hour-long dhyan, so deep that one can feel the tangible vibrations around and see the moonlight within.
A description of Sharad Poornima Meditation this year: It was full moon night of the Indian month ‘Sharad’ and the brightest moon of the year was shining with its therapeutic beams healing the mental inconstancy. Rejuvenation organized an evening meditation session on the terrace of ‘Asha Apartment’ on this holy full moon night. Gleaming white moon, white attire and white chrysanthemum were highlighting the purity of the entire ambience. Aparnaji explained the rationale behind certain beliefs associated with the day e.g., Goddess Mahalaxmi’s visit to every house, preparation of kheer, worshipping moon and maharaas. She emphasized the significance of worshipping the moon and the hidden aspects of moon factor. Level of meditation rose to peak as participants focused on the moon for ‘Tratak Dhyan’ and tuned themselves to melodious bhajans of Anoop ji. The mesmeric fragrance of white chrysanthemum was touching every soul; with white flowers in hands, devotees merged in the beauty of nature, thus bowing to Guru. Delicious Kheer was served as prasad which marked accomplishment of ‘Sharad Purnima’ ritual.
